Our Mission

We commit ourselves to educate and train special learners to be responsible, interdependent, entrepreneurial and empowered members of the community.

We dedicate our time and effort to build a society where special persons are accepted, loved, and given the chance to be responsible and accountable for their actions.

We give ourselves to total preparation of special learners to integrate to their community and culture.

Our Vision

A professionally managed, dynamic center, offering excellent service using scientific models and techniques in instruction and rehabilitation, networking with national and international non-government organizations to fully empower disadvantaged individuals with disabilities.

Our Philosophy

We believe that every person has the right to education. Education is the most dynamic process that leads to real empowerment. Psychological empowerment uplifts the self-esteem of the special person. Social empowerment connects the special person to social groups and their services. Political empowerment gives the special person a chance to participate on decisions that will affect his life in the community.

Our History

THE BIRTHRIGHT SCHOOL was started by Mr. & Mrs. Lino M. del Rosario, Jr. when their daughter was diagnosed to have Leukemia. Every time Danielle was hospitalized for Chemotherapy, her roommate at the hospital would be a child with certain disabilities. Pastor del Rosario would counsel the depressed parents while his wife strove to find ways to help the child. Finally, the burden in their hearts prompted them to start a small ministry to educate the disabled children in their neighborhood. Starting with 4 students, the ministry has grown to a school with now more than 100 students & 26 staff. After finishing her Master of Education majoring in Special Education at the University of the Philippines, Mrs. Del Rosario insisted on providing the Birthright teachers with scholarships for Master of Education, majoring in Special Education at the University of the Philippines. They too must be trained in educating special learners.

The Birthright Educators Foundation aims to educate and rehabilitate persons with special learning needs to their optimum potential. It trains teachers, parents and adjunctive therapists to empower persons with disabilities. It seeks to integrate special persons to their community activities and culture. It strives to put into practice the concept of inclusive education.
